Services at the Hamilton Dream Center

Hope flourishes when we witness everyday people saving on groceries and easing their stress, a parent’s relief in finding winter clothes for their children, the growing confidence of someone discovering job-appropriate attire, and the gratitude of someone receiving a walker, which alleviates their financial strain.

The Blue Door Pantry

The Blue Door Pantry is open on Tuesdays at 9:30 AM by appointment to help you stock your shelves.

It’s a bustling space where people come together to shop for essential groceries and gently used clothing. We are always thankful for financial and food donations to keep our shelves full!

APPOINTMENT DETAILS

For each appointment, please bring photo identification for everyone in your household, proof of income and a piece of mail confirming your address. Remember, the entrance is through the Blue Door at the back of the building.

UPDATE FOR THE BLUE DOOR PANTRY

In March 2020, the world changed drastically, and so did life as we knew it. The Dream Center responded swiftly, stepping up to support anyone and everyone in need during those incredibly challenging days. Since then, we have been operating far beyond our capacity, striving to meet an ever-growing demand.

While we have served every individual who came to us, this has come at a significant cost. Our resources have been stretched thin, our staff has been overwhelmed, and we recognize that we are not able to provide the level of support each client deserves.

The Dream Center was founded with a mission to help families who had nowhere else to turn—families who are working hard but still find themselves below the low-income threshold. To honour this vision and ensure we can fully support those who need us most, we are making an important change.

Starting March 1, 2025, we will focus our efforts on supporting families who are working, pursuing education, receiving WSIB or EI benefits, or relying on Old Age Security and CPP pensions.

We understand this is a significant shift, and change can be challenging. However, it’s a necessary step to ensure the sustainability of our services for the future.

All proceeds from the sale of clothes, shoes, and purses directly benefit the Blue Door Food Pantry, helping us stock our shelves and fridge.

Seniors Program

The Dream Center boasts a lively and engaging community for seniors aged 60 and up.
Our events offer a fantastic opportunity to connect with fellow seniors, enjoy refreshments, and share good times together. Our seniors contribute so much to our community, and it’s wonderful to give back, even if just for a few hours each month.
